The Language Testing Seminar(LTS) is the foundation course for English language professionals who will be responsible for developing proficiency tests to NATO standards. The Advanced Language Testing Seminar (ALTS) is for English language professionals who have successfully completed the LTS followed by at least a year of experience working with their national STANAG 6001 testing organization. The 3-week modular course focuses on developing proficiency tests to NATO standards with an emphasis on Level 3 items. The Faculty Development Workshop is an interactive course for experienced English instructors from defence-related language institutions. Participants discuss and share communicative teaching methods to improve their students’ speaking and writing skills in a military context. It is held once a year at each of the NATO Language Partnership Training and Education Centres (PTECs) in Shumen, Bulgaria; Poljce, Slovenia; and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The Language Standards and Assessment Seminar is an assessment literacy course covering classroom testing and familiarization with NATO STANAG 6001 standards. This course is for teachers and language course managers. It is held twice a year at the Partner Language Training Center Europe in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
